Lovely Zoo

test

Lovely zoo. So lovely.

The sun is bright. The sky is blue.

For the people.

For the animals in glass cases, do you want to know?

No, you don’t. You do?

Tiny cages. No sun. No changes. A mundane world. We are alive to be stared at...right? No? You don’t have to lie. Year one. Year two. Year three. Wait...what year is it now?

We hear you say things like “Can we go eat chips?”

”Or ice cream?”

”Or sushi?”

What do you think we eat? Biscuits with tea? Strawberry gelato? No, we eat kibble. And hay. We eat to stay alive. We are living for reasons. Not just because we are living things. Because we need to be your smile on a boring Saturday morning. If the zoo is open, we are working. We have two favorite games: stay alive and sleep.

We will trade safety at Lovely Zoo for freedom. We want to live, for goodness sake! We want to be wild! We want to starve and hunt and have a family!

But your never ever going to ask us what we want. Because you need us. For entertainment, for your breakfast eggs, for our skin, horns, and fur. Not just to stay alive. Because humans are better than us. More modern, more sophisticated, able to take rights from us. Because we can be shut up in cages till’ we die.

Now, go visit me at Lovely Zoo!
